Bert did the sleuthing, but he
left the locals to do the rest.
They had been dead in the
water, and Bert revived them. In
short order the Doc was in
custody. No amount of
prevaricating, no evasiveness
would get Doc out of this one.
That being said, Bert knew the
minute he looked in Doc's eyes
that he would be making an
insanity plea.
Arson gear and two jarred
butterflies were found in the
trunk of Doc's car.
As San Francisco is about all
things environmental, the
butterflies were soon released.
