Bert was not a social type of guy.
But hanging out with Andy
changed things quite a bit. Andy
mentioned dinner with some artist
friends. Bert was hungry, "Sounds
good." Little did he know it would
be quite the party!
He Saw Misty, Misty Lane, across
the room. Nothing surprised Bert
much, anymore. But Misty did.
Misty had presence. She was the
type of girl that became the center
of any room she entered. Her
gravitational pull caught Bert off
guard. Bert thought to himself, he
had better be careful; Her smile
was potent stuff!
Misty smiled his way. Ever subtle,
Bert barely nodded recognition.
Not to be dissuaded, she smiled
yet again. This, Bert found
charming! Besides, he had the
evening off! (He didn't know that
she would soften his hard heart,
and a light would begin to shine
in his dark world.)
Misty knew. She quietly hummed
to herself, "When the fire in me
met the ice in you...."
Bert & Misty
Bert was dark and jaded. But, he didn't dwell on disappointments. He knew
greater men had suffered more from the callousness of life. Take Andy, for
instance. Bert was toughened, and unaffected.
Without much thought, (after all
what was there to think about?)
Bert asked Misty out.....
He planned a simple date. A
comfortable a date. Possibly a
picnic, and a walk in the woods.
They would get to know one
another.
He would visit the local
charcuterie. And then pick up a
nice wine, perhaps two. A white
and a red, so Misty was sure to
be pleased....
Misty had thoughts of her own....
She liked Bert's look.
Although a bit rough, he was a
stylish guy, and ruggedly
handsome. She Practically
undressed him with her eyes!
